Townhouse Living Room

We've lived in the Townhouse for about nine months. Yep, we moved in about a month before we found out we were expecting. In that time we've gone through many different catastrophic events (you can read more about those here and here. And believe it or not, 2 other events that I haven't blogged about) Needless to say, I haven't really had a chance to make much progress anywhere other than the foyer, nursery and half bath.

In that nine months the living room has gone through 3 different layouts and a few different pieces of furniture. With life being completely turned upside down majority of that time, I didn't get any photos. So, lets just say these are mostly before photos then. K, thanks :)

This is the view when you first walk in the door. We've updated our couch, added baby stuff, and even got a new TV! Exciting things for us.

Because the foyer is attached to the living room, it got a small update as well. The biggest thing was removing the big dresser next to the door and adding room for Annie's crate. Which I hate so much. It smells like dog and is an eyesore. But I would much rather have it than have her running around.

Obviously there is a lot left to do. I mean, there is practically no art anywhere. We have a huge space that needs to be filled with something.

Staircase
Fix HELLO
Hang gallery wall

Entry/Dog crate area
Replace dresser? Possibly
Organize dresser
Organize coat rack
Fill in art
Add shelf above crate
Create "pet" area
Decorate
Living Room
Touch up painted wall (don't ask...)
Hang curtains
Add art
Decorate
Build swing
Build/Buy pack & play
Update TV stand
Deep clean carpets

It's a pretty good start. Aside from the pack & play, I feel pretty good with this space being "done" enough for when the baby gets here. I mean, she won't care if there aren't any photos above the TV :)

Pregnancy Update :: Week 35

Hello to being 36 weeks 2 days pregnant! This is now a personal record for me! I had Story at 35 weeks 4 days, so this is the longest I've ever been pregnant. It's a bittersweet victory. I'm so glad she's still in there. She's getting the time she needs to plump up, and also hopefully flip. But she's also still in there and not in my arms... And having contractions for over a week and a half is not fun. Most of the time they're pretty mild, but they get pretty intense while I'm at work.

We had an appointment today and got some really great answers, and a possible timeline. EEEEKK!!! :) :)

I also did a little impromptu photo shoot in the nursery. The lighting was great and I was feeling pretty good.

Speaking of the nursery, I finally made more progress. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow, as opposed to the snow that is falling right now, so I plan on getting a few photos of it!

Sneak Peek At The Nursery

I've been working semi diligently on the nursery/master bedroom. I will make a bit of progress and in the process I make a bigger mess in another part of the room. And wow, the baby gear just doesn't stop coming in! As soon as I get a little bit put away we get a whole lot more. Like diapers, I have no idea where to put all of these diapers! :) Which is a wonderful problem to have.

I finished a few major projects that really helped to move the room along. To start off with, I painted. I love how much paint can change a room!!! All of our townhouse is this off white color that chips really easily. And the trim doesn't match the walls. So, putting on some paint really helped change the entire tone of the room. And helped save my sanity, a bit.

The color I chose was Knoxville Gray by Benjamin Moore. I had it color matched at the home depot in Behr. It went on really great and I only had to do one coat! Before anyone freaks out, I painted in a well ventilated room.

I got so excited half was through that I hung up the curtains and started styling the nightstands. Painting was a two day job, being 26 weeks pregnant makes it a bit harder.

After that was finished I painted Finley's dresser. It's an old one that I've used for over 10 years now. It's in great condition and other that being a bit on the small side, is perfect for her changing table.

Once the dresser was done and the walls were painted I finalized the layout of the room. I wanted a few defining spaces. Mainly because I still want to have our master bedroom. The next thing we did was build the crib. We went with the Gulliver crib from Ikea. It's supposed to be the smallest crib that still fits a standard mattress.

By this point we were about 30 weeks along.

So, here we are, at 35 weeks and this is as far as we've gotten. There is a ton left to do, but I'm feeling really good about how the space is developing.

With all of this being done I was able to cross a lot off of the Complete House To-Do List. It also added a whole slew of new things. But that's to be expected.

Nursery
Repaint dresser
Organize dresser
Add art/shelves above changing table
Buy/build crib
Add mobile
Add art
Hang curtains for canopy
Update bookshelves
Add "closet space"
Create diaper storage

So, that's it for now. I hope we can get it all done before the baby comes, but she has a mind, and timeline of her own!
