Bumpdate - Almost over!

Here I sit, still pregnant. I'm rounding out week 36 with little to no progress..... I know what you're saying, "36 weeks? You're not even full term. Of course there's not a baby yet! Don't rush these things.". Well, normally that would be the case. But we're dealing with a pretty big baby already. Our midwife advised me not to try a vbac if the baby is over 7 pounds. If he's been gaining the half pound a week that most babies do, he's sitting at a hefty 7.8 pounds right now. Trying not to go into full panic mode. Which is really difficult considering I've gained a whopping 32 pounds so far!!! And let me tell you, it's all baby! My back literally aches all day every day. My chiropractor can't believe the state of my spine every time I visit. Which is once a week. Ideally, we will have the baby in the next five days. At my next OB appointment I'm to meet with the anesthesiologist. Next week we will also schedule an ultrasound to determine the baby's size. If he's on the bigger side, we will schedule a c-section for 39 weeks. I'm trying not to get too depressed over the whole situation. Either way, I'll have a healthy baby!

Updated : Officially 37 weeks. Still no baby or progress. I have an appointment in two days. We'll see how it goes!!!

Bumpdate - Third Trimester

Well hello third trimester! This pregnancy seems to be flying by. Like, the entire summer is over, and I'm supposed to have a baby in a few weeks. Whoa. Today we are exactly 31 weeks. Had an ultrasound last week. Technician confirmed for the third time that we are in fact expecting a boy, and he's not shy about it. I've been measuring 3 weeks larger for the past 2.5 months. Our midwife wanted to see why, check fluid and position. Turns out he's just a big boy! They did not change my due date but he is measuring over a full week larger. He came in at 3.9 pounds! Fluid levels are great and baby is heads down! Which is the best news ever!!! Now I'm just going to have a massive baby naturally, ha! I'm guessing he will be here around the second week of September. Yep, I think we will have a baby in less than 6 weeks. Don't even ask me if we have the bassinet put together (we don't) or have any newborn sleepers (we don't). But yeah, there is still plenty of time?! Anyway, on to the photos!

Gender Reveal Party : Baby Pike #3!

We decided to have a small get-together to celebrate the gender of our third (!!!) baby! We had an ultrasound done and asked the technician to not tell us and place the results into a sealed envelope. The plan was to then pick out a boy outfit and a girl outfit. We'd have a sales associate read the results and wrap up the appropriate outfit for us! None of that really went as planned. Jordan peeked, of course. He totally blamed it on Finley. We still went through with our plan and surprised our family the next day!

I didn't really take a whole lot of photos. Kind of wish I had! I kept the decorations really simple. Just streamers and a make-shift sign on the door. I went with "Blue or Pink? What Do You Think?" as the theme.

For lunch I made sausage gravy and biscuits. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. We don't have all the family over very often. I wish we did though. They're a lot of fun :) For dessert I made chocolate cupcakes with colored frosting.

Yes! Baby Pike #3 is a BOY!!! We couldn't be more excited!!! It's going to be quite the adjustment.

Pregnancy Update :: Weeks 36 - 37

What a busy couple of weeks we've had regarding the baby! At our first weekly appointment the doctor felt around and said the baby was heads down. I was skeptical. I mean, they told me I would feel a huge movement if she decided to turn and I hadn't felt anything. She wanted to confirm with an ultrasound. So, we did, again. The baby is still breech. Boo on that.

We then scheduled our ECV. We actually had that today. As of today we are 38 weeks 2 days along. The version was pretty painful. The baby did move around, a lot. She actually did a complete circle, missing the point that we wanted her to go heads down. The doctors were great and tried really hard to get her in the right position. They're not sure what's stopping her from wanting to put her head down there, but they plan on trying again next week. Speaking of next week, we are scheduled to have a C-Section! They will try the version one more time right before the C-Section. If it is successful then we will be induced. If it is not, then it's off to surgery. I'm not very optimistic the version will work a second time. I have read that the second attempt has less of a success rate. And the procedure itself only has a 50-50 shot of working.

Pregnancy Update :: Week 35

Hello to being 36 weeks 2 days pregnant! This is now a personal record for me! I had Story at 35 weeks 4 days, so this is the longest I've ever been pregnant. It's a bittersweet victory. I'm so glad she's still in there. She's getting the time she needs to plump up, and also hopefully flip. But she's also still in there and not in my arms... And having contractions for over a week and a half is not fun. Most of the time they're pretty mild, but they get pretty intense while I'm at work.

We had an appointment today and got some really great answers, and a possible timeline. EEEEKK!!! :) :)

I also did a little impromptu photo shoot in the nursery. The lighting was great and I was feeling pretty good.

Speaking of the nursery, I finally made more progress. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow, as opposed to the snow that is falling right now, so I plan on getting a few photos of it!

Family Photos

A few weeks ago, we were able to take family photos! I absolutely love the look of the winter scape and all of the snow. But, it was like -5 degrees when we were taking the photos. It's been a brutal winter for us here in Central Indiana. I'm sure it's been really bad everywhere else too. Anyway, we got back together with our favorite local photographer. She's wonderful, so good with kids, really affordable, and super sweet. She did our pregnancy announcement photos.

The photos speak for themselves!! It was an awesome experience and we can't wait for our next shoot. Hopefully when it's a bit warmer.
