I've been a really bad blogger lately. This week I have an excuse though. My dad came to visit! He came on Sunday and stayed until Thursday. It was so great getting to see him. Before we moved we lived in the next town over from him and was able to visit once a week. We haven't been in the area long so we didn't really have a whole lot to show him. Jordan had to work everyday so Story and I had a lot of one on one time with him. We went to Goodwill and Target. He was nice enough to give us a new dining room table with 4 matching chairs. We had purchased one a few days before and only found one chair. So the matching set is really great. He also got me a 3 step ladder! I can reach the ceiling. Can't wait to hang up curtains. We spent the last night at Jordan's parents house. It was nice getting to spend time with family. We're sad to see him go but we're happy to be getting back to the little bit f normal we've started here.
I've been a bad blogger lately, and I don't have a good excuse for it. We just moved in to a new house and I thought I would be so excited to get it set up and start on a billion projects. And to top it off I would be staying at home so I'd have plenty of time to get it all done. Though I am still really excited to be in a new place, I have no motivation to get anything done. I don't want to work on the house, I don't want to clean up, I don't want to get dressed and take pictures, I don't even want to play with Story. All I want to do is sleep. Looking at blogs (which I used to love to do) is too exhausting. I don't know whats wrong with me. I feel like we made a huge mistake in our move. I'm so scared that we won't be able to make it. All of the planning we put into it, and it seems like we have no idea what we're doing. I feel like I'm drowning and the surface is too far for me to make it. I'm in tears writing this. And for me, that's a big deal.
I know I need to pick myself up and make the most out of a bad situation. I know I need to apply for jobs. I know I need to save up to put Story in daycare. I know I need to finish the projects I've started.
And since starting this post last week, I have made some progress. The pool opened and Story and I have been visiting it daily. It feels good to be outside, even if I am burnt. Story loves to swim too. It's a good way for her to get to meet new kids as well. I also finished doing the laundry. I know that doesn't sound like much but let me give you a little back story. - We live in a 3 story apartment building. It is one of several buildings all laid out the same way. Each floor in every building has a set of washer and dryer. That way only 8 apartments share a machine. It was great. The machines were hardly in use. The only bad thing was there was no quarter machines. So we had to scrounge up quarters. Anyway, someone has been breaking into the coin machines on top of the washer and dryer. Ugh! So now I have to wait until Jordan gets home to walk me down to the one washer and dryer that works for the entire building. Anyway, it's just made getting the laundry done that much harder.- I've been hanging up curtains and straightening up everything. The in laws came for a visit on Memorial day and it gave me a huge reason to get my butt in gear. They hadn't seen the apartment since the first week we had moved in. It's really starting to look like a home now.
When I started this post over a week ago I wasn't feeling like myself. We all have these moments and I'm trying to not let it overtake my life. I think I need some help, and I'm not afraid to ask for it. Just because I feel better this week, doesn't mean it's all okay. How can I take care of everyone else if I can't take care of myself. I know that I need to come first. And I'm going to do something about it.
Thanks for listening.

What I Wore
I missed last week. And that's a good thing because I only had two outfits. That brings my total for this week up to four! Slowly getting back into the swing of things. I haven't set up my table top tripod yet, so these pictures are from weird angles and strange mirror pictures. I'm also using my old camera because my new one has to be on a tripod or it takes very blurry photos.
tank- Target. blouse- Rue 21
jeans- Old Navy. shoes- TOMS
I've had this shirt for about two years now and I've never had a chance to wear it. I bought it while shopping with my mom in law. Jordan saw it once and declared it one of the ugliest things he's ever seen. So I never wore it. I'm trying to break out of buying tee shirt material only tops and I wanted to look kind of nice while my dad was in town. So I fished this out of the back of my closet (which is still piled on the floor) and wore it the day that Jordan would be working late. Win- win.
tunic- Target. jeans- Old Navy. sandals- Gift.
on me :: shirt- Old Navy. cardi- Target. maxi skirt- Buffalo Exchange Charlotte.
on Story :: jeggings, Belle tee- Target. boots- Gift. stickers- NCSECU
shirt- Kohls (old and super faded. used to be a work shirt) pencil skirt, belt- Forever 21. flats- Target.
earrings- made by me
(don't mind the sunburn. pool opened this past weekend. I spent about 20 minutes poolside)
far away to see it all together. This was a really fun outfit to wear. It was comfortable and looked nice without trying too hard.
I'm going to really try and get back into taking daily photos, and have them look good. Moving is a stressful process that takes a long time to recover from. :)

What I Wore
turtle neck- Target. skirt- Forever 21. belt- Old
top- Thrifted. tank- Target. jeans- Old Navy
shoes- Gift
top- Marshalls. scarf- Walmart. ankle pant, belt- Target. shoes- Gift.
Okay, I have a serious obsession with these pants. I bought them on a whim from Target a couple of weeks ago. I didn't really need another pair of yellow pants, but there was something about these that I couldn't pass up. You see, they are not jean material. They are super soft and comfortable, the perfect length to roll up. They are not tight and do not have to be sized up like the Target skinny colored pants. I've gone back a few times looking for them and couldn't find them, I even looked online. Then, as luck would have it, I found them on Mother's Day!!! at $22 a pop I've only gotten one other pair... But I did find them online and will probably save up to get them in more colors. They are a perfect fit for me.
same pants. button up- Thrifted. vest- super old from K-Mart.
shirt- Gap. pants- Target. flip flops (I haven't left the house lately) Reefs.

Indiana House :: First Look {Living Room}
I know it's been a little slow around here lately. It's weird, I'm home all day every day and I can't seem to get anything done. We have made some progress. Just a little. As I've said, everything is functioning. It's all the little, pretty things that are yet to be done. And those are the things that everyone wants to see. All I have for you today is furniture arrangement.
Even though our house is larger than our old one, we still have to be smart about space. The living room looks big, but we are breaking it down into four parts. The speech bubble (not a fan of ipiccy or picasa) is the space that will be used as actual living room. The rest will be broken down into foyer, my office, and library.
Believe it or not, I don't have any other before and afters. When we moved in it was so late we didn't even think about pictures. Honestly, I doubt I knew where a camera was... To top it all off, this is the apartment my In Laws viewed, which was the apartment we were supposed to get. Instead we got the other one that was available. The layout is practically the same, but a lot of little things are different.
Any way. Yes, there are actually two full sized sliding doors leading out to the deck. No, we don't need two full sized sliding doors.
All of the furniture is the same as the old house. We did just get the storage ottoman.
By putting the couch up against the extra sliding door we were able to give ourselves added wall room. We didn't want to crowd it all by trying to jam everything between the two walls near the front door. I do have plans on making it look less like a big sliding door.
I want to add curtains that only cover the one door. I know it looks smooshed and close together. But that's how we like it. We don't have guests over often and when we do, we won't be crowded around the tv.
I really like how it's all coming together. The shelves will be filled with DVD's (hopefully tonight!! then we will only have a handful of boxes left to unpack!!) We are making a gallery wall next to the shelves, but I'm not sure if I will continue it past.
Next up will be the library. I am waiting on one more bookcase.
Update as of 5/15 ::
We finally have the DVD's put away!!! It ended up being a bigger project than we originally anticipated. Because there is such a gap in between the shelving unit and the wall due to the longest heater in the history of the world, we had to add a dowel rod to the back of the open shelves so that the cases didn't fall out. My wonderful husband assembled it all yesterday. And today he sorted and stored all of the movies :)

I Have A Thing For Shelves
Hello. My name is Faith, and I am a shelf-aholic. I have to put a shelf on every available wall in any house I'm in. Here are a few examples ::

And on several other walls I never got a chance to take pictures of.
I knew when we moved in to our new apartment that we would have storage issues. Though the house is technically bigger, meaning it has more livable space, we lost several square footage of storage. Remember our attic?
seen here
It did get a little bit cleaner. A little bit. The attic wasn't huge by any means but it gave us a place to put things we didn't want out. Things like seasonal items, furniture we didn't want anymore, boxes we saved for our move (we saved some boxes for 2 years) luggage, toys, seasonal clothes, etc... You get the idea. It gave us a great spot to put all of those things. Because, out of site, out of mind. When we moved we had to decide what to do with all of that junk. Most of it we got rid of it, but some of it we had to keep.
Which brings be back to my shelf addiction. We did a bit of a closet switch-aroo (which I will show soon, but it is no where photo ready) We have a decent sized hallway closet and an extremely small built in pantry.
I should also mention, in the old house we had a screened in front porch. We are not ones to use an outdoor space, so it didn't really effect us that much, but it did give us a place to put the cat litter box. Since we don't have a screened in outdoor space at the new house we had to put the litter box somewhere. So, half of the hallway closet is a cat room. The other half is a storage closet. We only have Christmas items in there now. The tiny built in pantry is now a weird linen closet. But will only stay weird until I can work out some storage for the 2 :) bathrooms we have. The pantry items have all been moved into our own standing pantry.
(old house)
The pantry is in the dining nook next to the coffee bar.
Okay, back to the shelves. We put some shelves up in the kitchen!
The shelves are the sames one in our old kitchen. We have 3 more, but I don't know where I'm going to put them yet. The cork globe and canvas are gifts from my Step Mom. Magazine vase is from Home Goods. Everything else is thrifted.
Because nothing stays the same. The plate was from my Mother in Law's antique shop. if you're ever in Cambridge City, Indiana check out Hole In The Wall antiques. It's on historic Highway 40 and has some of the coolest stuff :)
Adding those shelves have started a snowball effect in other places of the house. I've started painting the rest of the kitchen, styled the book cases, and even started on a gallery wall.
I have a lot to get done this week. I hope I can get several other rooms at least photo ready. Of course nothing is completed. We've only been here for less than 3 weeks.

What I Wore
I found this on my memory card. It's the last outfit in the old house :)
shirt, skinnies- Old Navy. shoes- Target. Bracelets- Made by Story, Kohls, World Market.
And the first outfit in the new house. I'm still trying to figure out the best place to take photos. We have a nice little deck that might work. I also have a wall in the bedroom I'm planning on keeping blank.
shirt, skinnies- Old Navy. tank- Target. scarf- Walmart. shoes- Gift.
